About the Festival
Inspired by the vast fields of lavender in the southern Rhone River Valley of Provence, France, the owners of Becker Vineyards decided to add seeds of lavender to their existing vineyard. Beginning in 1998 with 10,000 lavender plants, the Becker’s learned through trial and error over the years which varieties could best handle the extreme Texas weather conditions. Today, their fields hold approximately 500 plants, which provide a feast for the eyes each blooming season, which takes place every spring during April and May.
In its 21st year of celebration, the Lavender Festival heralds all things lavender. Learn more about this beautiful flower and its uses through cooking demonstrations and presentations. Search for the perfect lavender-inspired gift, such as handmade lavender soap, lotion, shower gel, grape seed scrub, lip balm, and candles, as well as products from over 30 artisan vendors onsite. The true stars of the festival are the rows upon rows of lavender plants in full bloom in the lavender fields in Texas Fredericksburg, providing picture perfect photo opportunities and an aura of serenity.
Located in the heart of Texas Wine Country, Becker Vineyards is set on 56 acres of vineyards. Take advantage of the opportunity to tour the winery and sample some of the delicious wines produced here. Attend The Lavender Festival in Fredericksburg
The Lavender Festival in Fredericksburg will be held on Saturday, May 4th from 10am – 6pm and Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 12pm – 5pm. Becker Vineyards is located 13 miles southeast of downtown Fredericksburg at 464 Becker Farms Rd, just off of Wine Road 290. Parking is $5 per vehicle and admission to the event is free.
